Cubs pen is flailing right now and the Braves have ran all over that team. Now they gotta go IN TO MIL and play what is arguably the best team in the league presently.
I also like the pitching matchups here. Brandon Woodruff last year had a 3.6 ERA and a WHIP under 1.200 in 42ip last year; granted those 42 consisted of mostly relief, but it looks like he still got boys out. Quintana had a good first start, but also had a WHIP of 1.320 last year, additionally only going 5ip in that start wherein his bullpen probably fucked it and the Cubs lost. Maybe they turn it around, but I’m putting my money on them doing exactly the opposite. BrewCrew no fear.
The Braves is a big-time fade the Marlins play. But, additionally, Kevin Gausman, after being traded to ATL from BAL last year, went 5-3 with a 2.87 ERA and a WHIP close to 1.100. He also dropped his HR/9 in half after being traded, giving up 1.5 before and then .8 after. Marlins throw out the young Pablo Lopez, who actually had a good first start against the Rockies.
The Rockies currently have the 27th-best team OPS against right-handers in the majors. ATL’s is 6th. Pablo Lopez don’t want that smoke. Additionally, Miami’s team OPS against righties is 20th in the majors, and they have to go up against a quality righty in Gausman. Braves RL on the plus money looks juicy. No fear.
Short writeup today because my roommate came home at 3 in the morning with 15 people and started doing drugs everywhere. The gravy train keeps rolling. Fri-YAY. BOL tail or fade.
- Want to bet the Rays -123 because they are a WAGON but pitching matchups look weird and Rays have a worse team OPS against righties so far this year than San Fran. Also busy today don’t have time to watch the game. Idk hammer it or don’t.
