Due to my Saturday night drinking habits, my Sunday morning wake-up time, and MLB’s usual Sunday schedule, I don’t have an ample amount of time to break these down. So here’s a quicc, 20 min writeup.
- Jesse Chavez has been pitching great, he’s tossed three straight shutout starts. Blake Snell has been having one of the all time bad post-Cy Young seasons, which has really helped contribute to the Rays slow-and-steady downfall. The Rays, whomst were once a wagon, are a meager 12-16 this month and 4-6 in their last 10. The Rangers, whomst were once 6 games below .500, are a blistering 18-10 this month, and have won 7 of their last 9. Additionally, the Rays are dead fucking last in team OPS during the last 7 days. Hotter team, hotter pitcher, easy money.
- Scherzer is back to top-notch form. In his last 5 starts, he’s posted an ERA under 1, a WHIP of about .7, and the Nats have won each and every one of those starts while posting a run differential of +17. The Nationals offense hasn’t been stellar as of late, but fading Jordan Zimmerman has been wicked profitable. In his last 5 starts, he’s posted an ERA approaching 9, a WHIP over 2, and the Tigers have lost each and every one of those starts while posting a run differential of -13. This should be a bloodbath.
- Both teams have top-10 offenses w/r/t team OPS during the last 7 days, with TOR hitting exceptionally well (.867). Additionally, both pitchers have been pitching very poor recently, with TOR’s Aaron Sanchez pitching exceptionally poor (L5 starts: 11.25 ERA, 2.17 WHIP, 0-5). Given this information, I expect runs.
Have a great Sunday everyone, BOL.
